Sustainable Energy Engineering
Welcome to the International Master of Science Program: Sustainable Energy Engineering

Sustainable Energy Engineering (SEE) is an international Master of Science Degree Programme with two parallel major programs with a strong environmental focus: Sustainable Energy Utilization in the Built Environment and Sustainable Power Generation. The program is carried out by the Department of Energy and Process Engineering, at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, University of Sarajevo, within the Tempus Joint European Project in a close co-operation with the Royal Institute of Technology, Stockholm, Sweden, as well as with other consortium member universities: University of Mostar, University of Banja Luka, Bosnia and Herzegovina; University of Dublin, Ireland and City University of London, United Kingdom.  Click here for latest news from SSE.

    Our mission
The purpose of the SEE Program is to provide state-of-the-art education in the fields of power generation, nuclear power technology, and energy utilization in the built environment by means of economically and environmentally sustainable systems and technologies. The term 'sustainable energy engineering' comprises a wide array of practices, policies and technologies (conventional and renewable/alternative) aimed at providing energy at the least financial, environmental and social cost. A strong emphasis is placed on dealing with energy engineering tasks with due consideration of technical, environmental and socio-economic issues. Advanced methods are applied to identify, describe, quantify and find solutions to a diverse range of energy engineering problems. All three study majors provide proficiency in project design and implementation, operation and maintenance, as well as in crucial phases of policy generation. The project is co-financed by the EU in close cooperation with the Department of Energy Technology at the KTH, which has already successfully established the International MSc in Sustainable Energy Engineering - SEU (click here for details). The present SEU program existing at the KTH since 1998 will be transferred and developed with a small modification at the the University of Sarajevo

 Faculty Profile

The University of Sarajevo is a leading university in Bosnia and Herzegovina. The University has its roots back in 1531, but it is established in the current form in 1940. Faculty of Mechanical Engineering is formed in 1949 and today has a reputation of excellence in both, the education and research.
